X-Sense could soon open its connected security system to additional platforms. A new base station with the model designation SBS0A has appeared in the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) product database. It was certified for Matter 1.5 on August 14, 2026 and is intended to make connected X-Sense devices available via Matter in other systems such as Home Assistant.
SBS0A as a Matter bridge
The connected smoke alarms and sensors apparently do not need their own Matter connection. Instead, the base station exposes their status as Matter devices to other smart home systems. The SBS0A therefore acts as a bridge between X-Sense and Matter.
The certification database lists Wi-Fi and Bluetooth as interfaces. Bluetooth is likely used during setup, while subsequent Matter communication runs over Wi-Fi.
Integration with Apple Home and Home Assistant possible
Because the SBS0A works as a Matter bridge, it can in principle be integrated into Matter-compatible systems such as Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa or Home Assistant.
Which devices and functions actually appear there depends on X-Sense’s implementation and the support offered by each platform. Matter certification does not guarantee that every function from the manufacturer’s app will also be available in another system.
Price and market launch remain unknown
X-Sense has not yet announced a price or release date. A product page for the SBS0A is not available either. The completed certification and the listed version numbers indicate an advanced stage of development, but they do not guarantee a near-term market launch.
