At the Light + Building 2026 trade fair in Frankfurt, smart home manufacturer eQ-3 is presenting numerous additions to its Homematic IP portfolio. More than 20 new products and solutions are set to expand the system in the areas of security, lighting, and smart home control, creating additional application possibilities for new construction and modernization projects.
New security solutions as a key focus
A central focus is the expansion of the security portfolio. Homematic IP is introducing a comprehensive networked alarm system that combines various components—such as sensors, sirens, cameras, and access solutions—into a single system.
Also new to the portfolio are indoor and outdoor cameras that expand the system to include integrated video surveillance and can be directly integrated into the Homematic IP app. Users can access live video and audio at any time, allowing them to see and hear what is happening in their home, even when they are away.
The security and access concept is complemented by a new Homematic IP video doorbell. It allows users to see and speak to visitors via their smartphone—regardless of whether the residents are at home or out and about. A notification appears automatically in the Homematic IP app when the doorbell rings.
The Homematic IP Door Lock Actuator – pro combines convenience features—such as access permissions, auto-relock, and a whisper mode—with advanced security functions. Integrated position and vibration sensors monitor the door mechanism, while precise door-state detection reliably identifies whether the door is open or closed.
Getting started with smart lighting
At Light + Building 2026, Homematic IP is expanding its portfolio to include its own smart home light sources for the first time. The new bulbs for E27 and GU10 sockets utilize RGBWW LED technology, enabling both colorful lighting moods and warm-white light.
The light sources can be easily installed in existing light fixtures and subsequently controlled via the Homematic IP app or integrated into scenes and automation routines. This is designed to make getting started with smart lighting control particularly straightforward.
New control elements and automation components
Another aspect of the new releases concerns smart home operation and control. Here, eQ-3 is expanding its product range to include additional control elements and automation devices that allow for the centralized control of functions such as lighting, shading, and security systems.
These include compatible dimmer inserts and switching actuators that enable the flexible integration of various lighting systems into the Homematic IP ecosystem.
The 6-fold wall switch with LED lighting that we previously introduced features six individually configurable buttons. Users can activate individual devices or entire scenarios—such as lighting, roller shutters, or alarm functions—at the touch of a button. Thanks to its hardwired 230-volt power supply, the switch serves as a smart alternative to the classic light switch.

Homematic IP is also expanding its glass series to include a wired variant alongside the existing wireless versions. The high-quality real-glass surfaces combine modern design with intuitive operation. Touch-sensitive areas allow for convenient control of various smart home functions—such as lighting or indoor climate—while also making the glass series a stylish element of interior design.
