IKEA is expanding its smart home range with the new MYGGSPRAY wireless motion sensor, now available for €9.99. Designed for indoor and outdoor use, the sensor aims to make automated lighting much easier in everyday life.

Automatic lighting for greater safety and comfort
The MYGGSPRAY motion sensor automatically switches on lights when it detects movement. This is intended to improve safety in typical problem areas such as garages, entrances, bicycle parking areas and stairwells. Its weather-resistant construction allows the sensor to be used both indoors and outdoors.
A particularly practical feature is that the new IKEA sensor can control up to ten light sources at once and activate them simultaneously. This makes it suitable for larger areas or several lights that should respond together, such as along a path to the house or throughout a basement.
Matter support simplifies integration into smart home systems
A key technical feature of the new sensor is full support for the Matter standard. This cross-manufacturer smart home standard makes MYGGSPRAY compatible not only with IKEA Home systems but also with Google Home, Apple Home, Amazon Alexa and other platforms.
When paired with the IKEA DIRIGERA hub, the motion sensor can also be controlled through the IKEA Home smart app. Users can create automations there or add the sensor to existing routines.
MYGGSPRAY motion sensor for under €10
With a retail price of €9.99, IKEA deliberately keeps the entry barrier low to make automated lighting as accessible as possible. Comparable motion sensors from other manufacturers are often significantly more expensive, while MYGGSPRAY is aimed primarily at smart home beginners. Alternatives from established smart home brands can cost considerably more.

Conclusion: an affordable entry into the Matter ecosystem
With the MYGGSPRAY motion sensor, IKEA offers a compact, technically modern and very affordable smart home product. The combination of Matter support, flexible automation features and broad application options could make it one of the most interesting new products in the entry-level segment.
