Homematic IP Reveals More Details About Its Glass Series

We have already reported on the introduction of the Homematic IP Glasserie in an earlier post. Now, the manufacturer has released further exciting details about the new series. This innovative product line combines a high-quality real glass surface with an elegant, timeless design and is available in the colors white and black.

Smart control with glass wall switches and wall thermostats

The Homematic IP Glasserie includes wall switches and wall thermostats that can be operated via a touch-sensitive glass surface.

Homematic IP Glass Button: Flexible and Individually Configurable

The wall switches can be individually customized and can be configured for single-, double-, or four-button operation. This provides a versatile control option for all Homematic IP solutions such as lighting control, shading, or access control.

A special highlight is the illuminated dividing bars, which enable intuitive operation. Touching the respective button immediately triggers a transmission command. In addition, longer presses can be programmed for functions such as dimming lights or a quick action function for simultaneous touch of all touch surfaces.

Homematic IP Wall Thermostats: with CO₂ Measurement

The new glass series includes two variants of the wall thermostats:

1. Standard wall thermostat with temperature and humidity measurement
2. Advanced version with additional CO₂ measurement

The temperature can be adjusted in 0.5°C increments using the + and – touch areas. The thermostat also features an integrated relay that can be used to directly control thermal actuators for underfloor heating. Alternatively, the switching output can be used as a light switch if there is no underfloor heating available.

Easy installation and flexible configuration

The Homematic IP Glass Series relies on easy installation and smart configuration options. For installation, the glass inserts are placed into a supplied flush-mounted unit and supplied with 230V power. In addition to the power supply, a switching relay is built into the flush-mounted unit, so existing light switches can be easily replaced. The auxiliary input of the flush-mounted module can be configured as a switch or push-button sensor in order to continue using conventional buttons in parallel. Device configuration is conveniently done as usual via the Homematic IP App.
