eQ-3 is expanding its system with its own Homematic IP video doorbell. The new doorbell was unveiled among more than 20 new products at Light + Building 2026. The device is now available and can be purchased at a recommended retail price of 199.95 euros*.

Part of the new security system

The video doorbell is part of a broader security concept that Homematic IP unveiled at the beginning of the year. It includes several indoor and outdoor cameras, alarm sirens and a new alarm dashboard in the Homematic IP app. Live feeds, recordings, event logs and alarm functions are managed centrally there.

The new Homematic IP security platform is designed to provide motion and person detection, two-way audio and push notifications, among other features. Camera images are displayed directly in the Homematic IP app.

An addition to the door lock drive

The video doorbell is particularly closely integrated with the new Homematic IP Door Lock Drive – Pro. Visitors can be identified in the app before the front door is unlocked remotely. The combination of video surveillance and access control has become a standard feature of modern smart home systems.

The doorbell is designed as part of a closed security ecosystem. Unlike many stand-alone solutions, video surveillance, alarm functions and door control are brought together in the Homematic IP app.

The Homematic IP video doorbell is aimed primarily at users who already have a Homematic IP system and want to expand it. At 199.95 euros, it costs more than some competing products from Blink, SwitchBot or EZVIZ, but users benefit from direct integration into the existing ecosystem and central management.
