Navimow i2 LiDAR Pro V4.1.0: Home Assistant, Mapping and Find My

With the new firmware and app version V4.1.0, Segway significantly expands the capabilities of the Navimow i2 LiDAR Pro. The update improves navigation and mapping and, for the first time, integrates Home Assistant and Apple’s Find My network into the new Pro series.

New firmware versions at a glance

To use all the new features, both the Navimow app and the firmware must be updated. Segway lists the following versions:

AI triple-fusion system improves navigation

One of the most important innovations concerns the robotic lawnmower’s navigation. Segway now combines LiDAR, Network RTK and camera-based vision technology in an “AI Triple Fusion System.” This is designed to make positioning even more stable and precise, especially in difficult conditions such as under trees or shrubs.

Stable navigation is crucial for RTK-based robotic lawnmowers in particular. With the additional LiDAR system, Segway is taking an approach similar to that of other manufacturers.

Auto-mapping becomes significantly smarter

With V4.1.0, the Navimow i2 LiDAR Pro receives an enhanced automatic mapping system. Users can now create maps for individual or multiple zones automatically with a single click. Boundaries can also be drawn and edited directly in the app without having to steer the robot manually.

Another new feature is the “Real Scene” view. It displays the garden as a realistic map, making mowing zones and boundaries more intuitive to adjust. This should make setup considerably easier, especially on complex properties.

Edge Sense improves edge mowing

Segway has also improved edge mowing. The new “Edge Sense” feature is designed to make the robotic lawnmower travel closer to boundaries and corners. This reduces the need for manual trimming along lawn edges. The feature is currently still in the app’s Lab section.

Home Assistant officially integrated

Especially interesting for smart home users: with V4.1.0, the Navimow i2 LiDAR Pro now officially supports Home Assistant. This allows the robotic lawnmower to be integrated directly into automations and dashboards. Here is the link to the guide.

This makes the following automations possible, for example:

• Start mowing only when the weather is good
• Pause when the garden gate is open
• Integrate it into presence or security automations
• Display the status directly in the Home Assistant dashboard

For technically experienced users, this is likely to be one of the update’s most important features.

Apple Find My and new security features

Segway has also enhanced theft protection. The robotic lawnmower can now be located through Apple’s Find My network, even when the device is switched off. A new proximity unlock feature also automatically unlocks the robot when its owner approaches with their smartphone.

Another new feature is an integrated 2.4-inch display that shows status information directly on the device and allows settings to be adjusted.

Battery management and cleaning mode

The update also introduces advanced battery management. Users can now define charging limits to improve battery life over the long term. A new cleaning mode automatically prepares the robotic lawnmower for cleaning and lowers the cutting disc.
